Lysandros Pantelidis is Associate Professor in Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of Cyprus University of Technology. He is graduate of the Department of Civil Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and holds a doctorate diploma from the same Department.
For seven successive years, Lysandros Pantelidis, was Adjunct Professor at the department of Civil Infrastructure Engineering of Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, where he taught the courses: Highway Technical Works (lecture and laboratory), Reinforced Concrete (lecture) and Rock Mechanics - Tunnelling (laboratory).
He also worked as Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering of Colorado School of Mines (USA), where he had the honour to collaborate with Prof. D.V. Griffiths.

His main research interests cover a wide range of subjects, among others,
- Analytical and numerical modelling in geotechnical engineering
- Analytical and numerical probabilistic analysis of geotechnical engineering problems based on the theory of random fields
- Reliability of geotechnical engineering structures with respect of field investigation
- Landslide risk assessment
- Investigation of rockfall measures adequacy and cost-effectiveness
- Soil erosion risk assessment
